A heavy tee that keeps its shape. 240gsm combed cotton, ribbed at the neck, and side seams rather than a tube so it hangs straight after a wash. Combing pulls the short fibres out of the yarn, which is why it stays smooth instead of going bobbly at the shoulders.

Cut 8cm over the chest, which is a normal tee. Take your usual size.

Model is 5ft 9 with a 38in chest, wearing a S.

Everything here is cut relaxed, so the numbers below are your own measurements rather than the garment’s. Between two sizes, take the smaller one: it will still be roomy.

Where to put the tape

Chest.
Under the arms, around the fullest part, tape level and not pulled tight.
Waist.
Around the narrowest part of your middle, usually just above the navel.
Hip.
Around the fullest part, with your feet together.

    Eighteen months and about ninety washes. The ribbing at the neck is still flat, which no other tee I own manages past a summer. Heavy without being hot.

    The side seams do what they claim. My old tube-knit tees all twist round my body by the third wear and this does not.

    240gsm is properly heavy and in a warm office it is too much. My fault, the number is on the page. Beautifully made otherwise and I wear it constantly from October.
