Harbour Shirt

Chalk

4.8 out of 5, 4 reviews

£95.00

The shirt the whole thing started with. Extra-long-staple cotton, woven into a poplin at the Lancashire mill and washed twice before it leaves Nottingham, so it arrives already soft. Cut a size bigger than it needs to be, with a low armhole so it actually moves.

Size

How it is cut

Cut about 14cm bigger round the chest than the size it is sold as. That is the point of it, but if you want it closer to you, take a size down and it will still be generous.

Model is 6ft with a 40in chest, wearing a M.

Size guide

Everything here is cut relaxed, so the numbers below are your own measurements rather than the garment’s. Between two sizes, take the smaller one: it will still be roomy.

  • 5 out of 5.Third one now

I have had the first one three years and it has gone soft rather than thin. The chalk yellows very slightly at the collar and I do not mind. Bought the charcoal in the sale and now this one again.

  • 5 out of 5.The armhole is the thing

Every other shirt this shape pulls across the back when I reach for something. This one does not, and I think that is the low armhole they go on about. Worth the money.

  • 4 out of 5.Roomier than I expected

Took my usual M and it is enormous on me, which is apparently the point but I would have liked to know before. Sent it back for a S and the exchange took four days. The S is right.

Bought it for work. The poplin presses flat with almost no effort and holds it all day. I am broad and took the XL rather than sizing down.
